I came up with this idea once upon a Texas Outdoor Leadership Conference. I think the Emerson quote was on a tee and I was in the middle of a Leave No Trace (LNT) presentation. I seem to hoard ideas, like I need to store them up for the right time, or if I wait until later I will be better equipt to realize them. I just need to put them out there though, I can always come back to an idea later, like this one, I always imagined I would do some kind of hand drawn type treatment, I can still do that, but at least now my idea is more than a scribble on a to do list.
Hopefully Emerson and LNT don't mind that I co-opted the both of them and smooshed them together without any permission. It's OK if it's just an exercise right? I'm not making any money, and it's EARTH DAY!
If you are not familiar with LNT you should go check them out. They are a great organization dedicated to teaching people how to care for the wilderness while enjoying it. My first LNT teachers were my Mom and Dad who always taught me to leave a place better than I found it.
